Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 and 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, vandals threw a large rock through the bay window of Inkberry Books in Cottonwood Square. Regional Transportation District (RTD) customers didn't have to pay to ride buses and trains for the month of August as part of the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative. The initiative was part of the Colorado's Ozone Season Free Transit Grant Program, in which many transit organizations throughout Colorado participated. Festive crowds flocked to Niwot Wheel Works at 3 p.m. sharp Dec. 3 to deliver gingerbread house creations that were part of this year's gingerbread house decorating competition. Arts Student of the Week Mya Wells has fond memories of the music that surrounded her during her childhood in California. "My mom was born in Mexico. A baker's dozen small Christmas trees are on display near the baked goods in Niwot Market as part of the Niwot Business Association's effort to raise money for charities during the holidays.
