    ​​Scout Troop 161 held a Court of Honor on Sept. 12 where both Boy and Girl Scouts were awarded merit badges for their badge work over the summer and rank advancements. Many of the scouts had attended the week-long Camp Cris Dobbins at Peaceful Valley in the early summer. They quickly learned camp evacuation procedures as forest fires raged around the camp.     One of the ways The Rotary Club of Niwot serves our community is through gifts to local charities. One of their main fundraising events is the sale of cases of delicious Palisade Peaches each year, and orders are now being taken. Funds raised are given to the Rotary's partner charities.     Niwot's Galloping Geese bike team was grateful for the cooler temperatures this past weekend as they completed the BikeMS Colorado. On June 25, they started in the early hours from Broomfield and cycled 68 miles, ending in Fort Collins where they were greeted with live music, cold beer and rest tents. The route brought them, and nearly 1,500 BikeMS riders, hurtling through Niwot between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. with a welcome rest stop at Niwot High School.   • Rotary Club of Niwot gives check to NCAA Ukraine Sculpture campaign

    The Rotary Club of Niwot, through its grant program, was able to make a generous donation of $2,000 to the Niwot Cultural Arts Association to assist in the purchase of the "Kore That Awakening" sculpture in Niwot Sculpture Park. The donation will ultimately be money sent directly to the sculptor Egor Zigora, who along with his family and studio, fled Ukraine at the beginning of the attack by Russia.     The BSA Troop 161 Boys Troop has been operating out of Niwot for over 50 years. In April of 2021, the Left Hand Grange approved the BSA 161G troop, which started with 6 female scouts from the surrounding areas.
