TRAILS EVENTS
On Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of its Recovery and Wellness Series, the City of Boulder's OSMP (Open Space and Mountain Parks) will be offering a Conscious Reconnection on the Farm event on a "draft-horse powered farm and dairy," which is located on 60 acres of OSMP land near the intersection of 75th Street and Arapahoe Road at 7713 Arapahoe Road.
This family-friendly program is not just for people recovering from an addiction but from any of life's impacts, injuries or illnesses. The program "welcomes and affirms those that are in recovery as they define it and requests participant confidentiality and openness to create a safe environment for all."
For registration and more details, visit the OSMP website.
Have you seen the pair of turkeys that have stopped traffic on Lookout Road and been seen frequenting the Boulder Country Club? Turkey mating season is now happening throughout the spring. Thus OSMP is offering Talking Turkey on May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) Trailhead at 1850 Table Mesa Blvd, Boulder.
During a 2.5-mile hike, ranger Dave Gustafson will give an overview of wild turkey language and turkey biology while sharing turkey calls and turkey decoys. Clues to turkey proximity will be found and, with luck, some turkey sightings. Water, sunscreen and hiking boots are required.
For registration, location and more information, visit the OSMP website.
