Niwot sophomore and aspiring photojournalist Julian Wu snapped this photo in Niwot last August. As he described it, "I was walking on a rural trail and I saw a sunflower and decided to take a picture with my dinky little point-and-shoot camera. However, it didn't work. So then I decided to pose myself holding the camera and the dead battery in front of the sunflower, and I managed to get a super clear picture using my phone. I think that's the proudest I've been of my work in photography."
Niwot sophomore Julian Wu took up photography as a middle schooler and has been seeing the world a little differently ever since.
"Photography is a really great medium of art," he said. "You just need a camera and great positioning."
Living in Niwot has given Wu an appreciation for the changing textures of a rural landscape.
