Standing with the Niwot Residents on Parking This is probably a no win situation for the residents, as even some of the people who manage the Left Hand Valley Courier are the same one in the NBA and NCA. I tend to agree with the residents on using the park for parking. It is close to the businesses, it will not disturb the bucolic residential area. There is a horde driven to these concerts. They are on a mission with all of their camping gear. The car doors slamming, people hailing fare thee well, engines will disturb the residents. The noise...

Callie said that they initially purchased the property in 2014 as a real estate investment and to relocate their family to Colorado which was part of their long-term plan. “We’re hoping we’ll have a successful business and be a contributor to the commu...

One of the highlights for the Nov. 7 election included Question 1B, increasing the limit for Boulder County Sheriff to five four-year terms. To The Editor: I am opposed to the parking lot, which will be located along Murray Street, on the strip of land currently owned by BNSF railroad. Reasons for my opposition: The parking lot will change Murray Street from a rural setting to a city setting. Traffic will increase in the neighborhood. According to the Sept. 2016 traffic study done in Niwot (Fox, Tuttle and Hernandez), ten spaces were removed from downtown parking for striped parking spaces and bumper blocks between 2014 and 2016. The study recommended that employees be encouraged...

Last Friday at the Denver Coliseum, the Niwot volleyball team did something no other Niwot team has done since 1997 -- advanced to the final four of the Class 4A state tournament. With a boisterous contingent of fans cheering them on, the No. 4 seed Cougars dispatched No. 9 Discovery Canyon 23-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-15 and No. 5 seed Palmer Ridge 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-13 to clinch a berth in the semifinal round, their first in 20 years. Unfortunately for Niwot, their semifinal opponent was No....

    Jesse Murphy, [email protected]|Nov 16, 2017

Niwot High School will soon have a new roof, but not the kind made of shingles. Thanks to a power purchase agreement, the St. Vrain Valley School District will be installing solar panels at NHS, Erie Middle School and Red Hawk Elementary over the winter. Dara Ward, energy and sustainability manager for the district, said that this will become a great opportunity for the students as well as the facilities and constituents. “Going into this project for the district, it was really important to n...
