Silver Creek boys take 3rd at BOCO Invite

The Silver Creek boys swim and dive team performed well at the Boulder County Invitational April 20, finishing third overall out of nine schools, and top among Class 4A schools.

The squad, which is a combined team from Silver Creek and Niwot High, coached by Debbie Stewart, had several gold medal winners at the Broomfield Community Center.

Chayakorn Ngampatipatpong led the Raptor swimmers with first-place finishes in both the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 58.27, and in the 200 individual medley, with a time of 1:59.77. In addition, he swam on the Raptors' 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays, each of which finished fourth overall.

"The guys had a really great meet," Stewart said. "It was a fun meet and the Silver Creek boys held their own up against those 5A schools...,coming out with a third-place finish and Chayakorn Ngampatipatpong getting two first-place finishes, giving him a five-way tie for high point junior. I'm feeling really good with how the guys are looking with only two weeks left until conference and state."

On the diving board, Rider Neeb, who also doubles as a swimmer, took top honors with an 11-dives one meter score of 467.80, almost 10 points ahead of the second-place finisher.
