All Local, All The Time

The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop and author Lauren Kerstein promote Love for Lily

The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop is teaming up with local author Lauren Kerstein to promote Love for Lily, a nonprofit seeking to support NICU babies and their families. On Saturday, Sept. 17, The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop will host a community celebration and fundraising event at which Kerstein will give two storytimes performances at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Each storytime will be followed by a tiny superhero cape-making craft, during which participants will create small felt superhero caps for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. In addition to the storytimes and crafts, attendees will enjoy ice cream provided by the Best One Yet ice cream truck, sponsored by Deborah Read Fowler and Slifer Smith & Frampton. A portion of all purchases made from The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop during the event will be donated to Love for Lily.

“I am thrilled to participate in this event,” says author Lauren Kerstein. “As a mental health clinician, I’ve focused on early intervention and building individualized intervention strategies that support the entire family. As an author, I strive to touch children’s hearts. This event gives me the chance to continue both of these missions. I value the impact Love for Lily makes in the community and am grateful for the opportunity to partner with an incredible bookstore and a phenomenal organization.”
