    The Niwot boys basketball season came to a heartbreaking end last Wednesday, with a 73-69 loss to the Elizabeth Cardinals in the first round of the 4A state playoffs. Though the offense struggled most of the night, a 30-19 scoring run by the Cougars in the fourth quarter put a playoff win tantalizingly within reach in the game’s final seconds.     Former Colorado Speaker of the House and Boulder County resident Dickey Lee Hullinghorst has officially hung her hat as a state legislator.
