Elise Cranny (Niwot), a two-time Olympian, is running professionally for Michael Johnson's Grand Slam League. At the Kingston (Jamaica) Slam, Cranny finished sixth in both the 3,000m (8:44.03) held April 4, and the 5,000m (15:31.61) held April 6. Cranny earned $15,000 for her performances. She also won $10,000 for her performance at the Miami Slam, where she finished seventh in the 3,000m (8:42.30) and eighth in the 5,000m (15:15.31) held May 2-4. Most recently at the Philadelphia Slam, Cranny finished fifth in the 3,000m (8:45.44), earning $10,000 for her effort on May 31. Cranny returned to Niwot after the race in time to be inducted into the Niwot High School Hall of Fame June 1.
Kathryn Carroll (Niwot) competed in seven meets for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Carroll scored four points at the RMAC Outdoor Championships, finishing seventh overall in both the long jump and triple jump. She recorded a season-best leap of 11.65m in the triple jump at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi, and posted a season-best mark of 5.56m in the long jump at the Mines Midweek #2.
Kelia Portis (Niwot) posted a personal record in the 400m hurdles for Western State University at the CSU Last Chance Qualifier May 3 with a time of 1:01.54, good for second place in the event. Portis, a senior, finished sixth in the 400m hurdles and seventh in the 100m hurdles at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor championships April 25-27.
Taylor James (Niwot) won the 3000 Steeplechase for Stanford with a time of 13:03.53 on May 3 at The Big Meet against California. James, a junior, has also run middle distance events.
Sierra Parks (Niwot) competed in three meets for the University of Colorado during the Indoor Track season. Parks ran a personal best 10:44.61 in the 3000m at the CU Invitational.
Grady Rauba (Niwot) competed in four meets for the University of Colorado during the Indoor Track season. Rauba ran a personal best 7:52.66 in the 3,000m at the Boston John Thomas Terrier Classic. He also recorded a personal best time of 13:39.23 in the 5,000m at the Boston David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Curtis Volf (Niwot) helped Saint Mary's College of California's men's track squad to a fourth-place finish out of a 13-team field at the Johnny Mathis Invitational in San Francisco April 14. Volf had the second-best time in the 1500m race for the Gaels, posting a time of 4:00.77. He posted a time of 4:00.22 in the same event to score for the Gaels at the Bay Area Invite March 15. He dropped his time in the 1500m to 3:55.88 May 3 at the 2025 Oxy Invitational, good for 46th place overall.
Lucca Fulkerson (Niwot) ran a personal record 16:11.61 in the 5000m to win the event for Princeton University at the Larry Ellis Invitational May 2-3. Fulkerson, a senior, finished 11th in the same event at the Ivy League Outdoor Championships (16:59.04) and tenth in the 10,000m at the same event May 10-11. She also posted a personal record in the 3000 Steeplechase at the Princeton Elite Invitational May 17 with a time of 10:18.18, good for third overall.
Zane Bergen (Niwot), a redshirt sophomore at Stanford University, finished seventh at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a personal record time of 3:39.20 in the 1500m April 16-18. Earlier, he posted a personal record in the 800m at the Stanford Invite, finishing fourth in 1:50.11 April 4-5. He set another personal record in the mile in the Husky Classic Feb. 14-15 with a time of 3:58.59, good for 11th overall.
