CO 119/Diagonal Highway Traffic Updates

Continuing traffic signaling work along the CO 119/Diagonal Highway will cause the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to conduct various southbound right shoulder closures, between Hover Street and Jay Road, until Friday, June 6, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Due to weather occurrences on May 28 and May 29, CDOT has rescheduled the lane closures for Airport Road and CO 119/Diagonal Highway to the anticipated date of June 3. Once commenced under favorable weather, CDOT will reduce the southbound intersection at Airport Road and CO 119/Diagonal Highway to one lane while detouring all traffic to southbound CO 119 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to CDOT, access to northbound CO 119 from southbound Airport Road will be closed to all travelers. As a detour, CDOT said southbound motorists on Airport Road will need to use southbound CO 119 and cross the median at Niwot Road in order to return to northbound CO 119.

From Wednesday, June 4 to Friday, June 6, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., CDOT will conduct various overnight lane closures on southbound CO 119/Diagonal Highway between Hover Street and Airport Road to shift traffic and to set traffic barriers.

Beginning Wednesday, June 4, CDOT will close Business Center Way at southbound CO 119/Diagonal Highway, between S. Fordham and Hover Streets to all modes of transportation along with shifting southbound CO 119 traffic in the area. The closure, as part of the bikeway underpass construction, will continue until the fall of 2025.

For motorists needing to access businesses near Business Center Way during the closure, CDOT suggests using S. Fordham Street to Dry Creek Drive. As a cyclist detour, the agency is encouraging the use of the sidewalk to Dry Creek Drive and to continue on Dry Creek Drive to turn onto S. Fordham Street, and then southbound CO 119.
