CO 119/Diagonal Highway Traffic Update

Now through Friday, May 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), as part of their traffic signal work, will be conducting various right shoulder closures on southbound Colorado Highway 119/Diagonal Highway, between Jay Road and Hover Street.

According to CDOT’s weekly project update for Colorado Highway 119, the agency says they are aware of delays experienced by motorists at the intersection of Jay Road and CO 119/Diagonal Highway and are closely monitoring intersection operations. CDOT said the configuration will remain in place through mid-summer. The agency’s project team is advising travelers to take alternate routes during the closure.

CDOT also advises there will be intermittent traffic-pacing operations on CO 119/Diagonal Highway while crews move equipment across the highway. The pacing will cause brief traffic holds and traffic moving slower.

The following are the projects affecting CO 119:

• Safety, Mobility and Bikeway Project

• Adaptive Signal Project (Jay Road to Niwot Road)

• Commuter Bikeway

• 28th Street Improvements Project

• Coffman Street Busway Project

• CO 119 and Hover Street Intersection Improvements
