The first concert in the 2025 House Blend Band Summer Concert Series will return to Niwot in front of The Old Oak Coffeehouse at 136 2nd Avenue on Saturday, May 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The free event will close 2nd Avenue from Murray Street to Franklin Street that evening. It is recommended that patrons bring their own chairs as seating is limited. The Old Oak Coffeehouse’s famous spaghetti and meatballs will be available to purchase. Patrons will order at the door and pick up at the window for efficiency.
The Old Oak Coffeehouse was originally opened in 2017 with the goal of including music, art and pottery with their coffee, food and other drinks. The House Blend Band was formed in 2019 and has been growing ever since.
The band members were originally coffee shop co-owners Michael Tomich and Patty Machen and their vocalist daughter Paris Tomich. It has since grown to include bassist Andrew Bunin, drummer Joshua Thomas, guitarist Hadyn Peacock, saxophonist Lukas Haratsaris, trombonist Zach Kaufman, trumpet players Andrew Hudgins and Felipe Mejia, and audio technician Morris Conti.
The House Blend Band Summer Concert Series is again partnering with Slow Food Boulder County to provide salads from local farms for each show. Donations to support the organization and partnering farms are appreciated.
In addition to Saturday’s concert, the House Blend Band will perform three more concerts this year on June 28, August 2, and Sept. 20, all from about 6 to 9 p.m. The series also includes a Thursday, June 12, first-time Rock & Rails concert at Whistle Stop Park.
