All Local, All The Time

Courier honors its donors

The Left Hand Valley Courier, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, launched a fundraising campaign in November 2024 with the goal of raising $250,000 to pay reporters and vendors, print the newspaper weekly, upgrade printing quality, and support our educational mission.

On April 28, the Courier hosted a "Thank You" event at The Wheel House to thank donors with games, prizes, and auction items. Bruce Warren, Maria Karagianis, Elise Marylander and Madison Shaw spoke to the crowd about the beginnings of the Courier, the importance of local journalism, what the Courier covers that others do not, its reporters and the future of journalism and the Courier. Skip & Gayn donated their talents to provide a musical background to the event.

The event raised $1,755 for the Courier.

To date, the Courier has raised $51,848 with $6,870 of that donated in 2025. Our success is due to the outpouring of local support from you, our loyal readers, donors and advertisers. We are in the process of applying for grants to supplement our local fundraising efforts.

We thank each of you for your generosity. We still have a long way to go, but we trust our readers to keep us headed toward our goal to keep the Left Hand Valley Courier strong, independent, educational, and thriving for a long time to come.
