New teachers at Niwot High School

There are six new teachers and a new family liaison starting at Niwot High School this year, teaching a wide variety of different studies. According to Principal Eric Rauschkolb, these hirings are due to a large increase in Niwot High School's enrollment,

This year, the school had 100 more students enrolled compared to last year, and the St. Vrain Valley School District has given NHS more staffing distribution. Three of the new teachers are familiar to the high school students because they have been guest teachers with the high school in the past.

The new teachers are Anne Marie Andrews, Lynn Ingegneri, Mark Burnett, Ashlea Quigley, Karen Plomondon, Savanna Hudson, and a new family liaison, Laura Juarez.

Anne Marie Andrews is the newest full-time special education teacher at Niwot High School. She has considerable experience in the field and is a Colorado native.

Lynn Ingegneri is the new science teacher who teaches part-time at the high school. Previously, she taught at a community college for four years before accepting a position at Niwot. She is the mother of two high schoolers herself.

Mark Burnett is the school's new computer science teacher who works half-time at the school. Burnett was a guest teacher at NHS in the past, and has been a mentor for the Up-A-Creek Robotics Team.

Ashlea Quigley is a half-time social studies teacher who also works as a half-time teacher at Erie High School. She previously worked in Haxton, Colorado, for five years. History has been a passion of Quigley's ever since she was young, and she is excited to share that passion with others. "I have the chance to talk about what I love most, while, hopefully, inspiring young minds to critically think and engage with the material," Quigley said. "I feel very fortunate that Niwot had an opportunity for me, as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here getting to know the students, staff, and community."

Karen Plomondon is the new math teacher. She has been a guest teacher in the past and is well-known to the staff and students at Niwot High School. All three of her children are graduates of Niwot High School.

Savanna Hudson is the newest English teacher at the high school, working half-time. She started out teaching elementary school and has been a guest teacher at Niwot High School in the past.

Laura Juarez is the new family liaison, a position that has only existed for two years at Niwot High School. She makes it easier for Spanish-speaking families to interact with the school.
