Visions of the natural world hang above pottery as part of Open Studios members' show.
The Open Studios members' show began last week at the former feed store on 2nd Avenue in Niwot. It will run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1-5 until the show's closing fundraiser on July 7.
The whimsical side of the exhibit includes a robot that waits for visitors from his pedestal underneath a floral-themed work.
The exhibit showcased a variety of work with a range of subject matter from local artists.
Open Studios, a non-profit artist's organization based in Boulder, has returned to Niwot after a successful run last holiday season when the organization put on a display of art by local artists which was for sale during the month of December.
Since then, property owner John Fischer has refurbished the interior and exterior of the property.
The Niwot Cultural Arts Association worked with Fischer to make the former Niwot Rental & Feed property available to artists, and Open Studios is the first of what is hoped to be an ongoing space for periodic displays of art in Niwot. The NCAA, through committee members Anne Postle and Lisa Rivard, have been in contact with other arts groups to discuss possible future shows.
The Open Studios members' show began June 9 at the former feed store at 291 2nd Avenue in Niwot. It will run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. until the show's closing fundraiser on Friday, July 7, in conjunction with the NCAA's First Friday Art Walk.
