The 10 & Under Colorado Stars--Jones won the Bunny Hop Tournament April 8 at Hangge Fields at Monarch Park.

Progress continues on the Monarch Improvement Project as construction of the new concession-bathroom-storage building is well underway. The building at Hangge Fields at Monarch Park will serve the six Niwot Youth Sports ballfields located there once it is complete.

Larry Longseth, one of the project coordinators, said the trenching for the sewer line is slated to start in late April. Tony Dageenakis and Glenn Wager, who are also part of the building committee, were at the fields April 8 for the Bunny Hop, the first competitive softball tournament of the season, selling concessions from a mobile facility.

The building is now enclosed, with roofing and a stone exterior soon to be installed. The fundraising effort continues as additional funds are needed for completion.
