All Local, All The Time

March art in coffeeshops

Each month brings a fresh round of paintings to Winot Coffee Company and The Old Oak Coffeehouse in Niwot. March was no exception. Both venues have showcased area artists on their walls for the month, with the work of each artist available for sale.

Winot featured Megan Gael McCarthy, a member of the Longmont Artists' Guild, Boulder Art Association, and Art Students League of Denver. McCarthy's work recreates emotion of a time and place. It also focuses on paint textures and the physical qualities of how colors play off each other. Her work online can be found at http://www.megangaelmccarthyart.com.

The walls of Old Oak feature the work of Catherine Bender, who works in the area. Bender has had the urge to create since childhood. Her paintings feature a variety of subjects including animals, landscapes and buildings, which reflect her desire to express the world as she sees it for others to interpret.
