January art brings nature to Niwot's coffee shops

Anyone looking to view beautiful nature artwork should be sure to visit The Old Oak Coffeehouse and Winot Coffee Company. Although there are only a few days left in the month, you will not want to miss the January art exhibits on display.

The Old Oak Coffee House features work by its baker, Natalie Brey, whose paintings of sunflowers, mountains and other natural views are elegant and beautiful. Created using oil and cold wax on canvas as well as other mediums, the work on display includes a stunning white on white depiction of Long's Peak and a glacier-work depicting the Flatirons.

At Winot, majestic birds are the focus of Hooman Shadnia's exhibit called "Lifer's." The term, which, to most people, means an incarcerated individual, is also a birder's term for viewing a species they haven't seen before. Shadnia's bird photography took flight (pun intended) when he moved to Colorado. The portraits on display include bald eagles, ravens, robins, a great blue heron and more.

As is typical for the monthly coffee house art displays, both Brey's and Shadnia's work is for sale. Brey's can be viewed at http://www.nataliebreyart.com and Shadnia's can be found at https://www.instagram.com/shadniahooman/?hl=en.
