NBA Tannenbaum Charity Trail auction generates almost $2K

With 16 Niwot businesses participating, the Niwot Business Association's inaugural Tannenbaum Charity Trail silent auction raised almost $2,000 for various charities.

Each participating business decorated a miniature Christmas tree, and many included gift certificates to their business. The trees were displayed at Niwot Market from Dec. 3 to Dec. 10. A tree decorated and donated by Niwot Eye Care & Vision was the top fundraiser, with a winning bid of $300 to benefit the Humane Society.

Belle Terre's tree saw a winning bid of $200 to benefit the American Cancer Society, while $150 bids won trees donated by Niwot Market (Rise Against Suicide), Pebble Art Jewelry (People Weaver) and Compass - Niwot Group (NICU at Children's Hospital).

The Wandering Jellyfish tree garnered a winning bid of $135 to benefit A Precious Child, and Fly Away Home generated the same amount for Mi Casa Resource Center. Other businesses contributing included Juniper & Twine, Blessings Day Spa, DRF Real Estate, Chico's Grooming, Warren, Carlson & Moore, Attorneys, Winot Coffee, Porchfront Homes, Little Shop of Niwot, and Niwot Jewelry & Gifts. The final tally donated to charities by the winning bidders was $1,960.

Deb Fowler, NBA vice-president, who coordinated the Niwot Holiday Market events on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10, including the display of silent auction trees at Niwot Market, was pleased with how it turned out. "Businesses have been super busy the last three weekends, and that makes me super, super happy," Fowler said.
