Niwot High creates Hall of Fame

As part of its 50-year anniversary celebration, Niwot High School is creating a Hall of Fame to recognize teachers, coaches, players, students, administrators, and community members who have played a significant role in the history of the school, or gone on to make important contributions to society.

“This is our capstone project for our 50th anniversary celebration,” Athletic Director Joe Brown said. Initially, a small group consisting of Brown, Principal Eric Rauschkolb, coaches, community members and past administrators will receive and evaluate nominations, which can be made by anyone. “The committee will rank and evaluate applications, then decide on the number of nominees to induct,” Brown said. The committee will expand to include inductees in the future.

“Our goal is community, to build that relationship,” Brown said, “We see the value of that.” The school plans to get the word out to the community and alumni. Nominations can be made on the school’s athletic website https://nhs-cougars.com/hof/.

According to the website, nominations are taken on a continual basis. “Once someone has been nominated to the Hall of Fame their nomination and information will be permanently kept on file for annual consideration for induction into the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Ceremony will be part of the annual Night of Champions Celebration in early June at Niwot High School. For more information about the Hall of Fame please contact Niwot High School Athletic Director Joe Brown at [email protected].”
