Open Stage community music

If you enjoy folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, pop, and light rock, the Left Hand Grange's Open Stage is the place for you. Be an audience member or perform for the community. Feel free to use the musical instrument of your choice (your voice, harmonica, guitar, or banjo, for instance) and present your original music or a cover of someone else's. All are welcome. Sound equipment, microphones, and a piano are provided. Open Stage will be held on the second Sunday of each month beginning Oct. 9 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Performer sign ups start at 1:15 p.m.

Niwot Community Connection

The Niwot Community Connection (NCC) will meet at the Grange on the second Thursday of the month beginning Oct. 13. Meetings will be held from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. The organization's mission is "To provide a forum for individuals over 50 years of age in the Niwot area to help build a sense of community and promote opportunities for connection and learning."

In addition to updates about all of the activities the NCC is providing, the October meeting will feature local artist Jane Langdon. Langdon's presentation is titled "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain."

Bo Fan's Senior Health and Recreation classes

Bo Fan, former owner of Fan's Chinese Cuisine and the Niwot Conoco gas station, and longtime licensed practical nurse, is offering a program called "Fan's Senior Recreation." The sessions are geared toward helping Niwot seniors keep their bodies healthy through daily activities and delicious, nutritious foods.

Fan spent 6 years studying at a medical college and has 20 years of experience working in hospitals and nursing homes, and she's excited to share her knowledge with Niwotians.

Fan's presentations will be on the second Tuesday of each month beginning Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Grange. Admission is free. For additional information and to sign up for classes, contact Fan at [email protected].

Group dance classes

Dancer, teacher, and choreographer Lindy Bartruff is excited to be teaching at the Grange for her second season. Bartruff's company, Lindybdance, offers fun and supportive dance and fitness classes for all ages and experience levels. Classes will be held on the following Tuesdays: October 11, 18, 25, November 15, 22, 29, and December 13, 20, 27.

Three group classes, together called "Circles and Lines," begin at 5 p.m. on each of those Tuesdays with CircleFit 7, where you can learn fun dance and aerobic steps in circles or chains. Line dancing to country and contemporary songs begins at 6 p.m. and International Circle Dance, consisting of ethnic circle and chain dances, begins at 7 p.m.
