Local Author-Illustrator Kaz Windness celebrates first children's book

Have you ever heard of a crocodile who was afraid of swimming? That's what inspired Denver-based, local author and illustrator Kaz Windness to write her first children's book, Swim Jim!

Debuting this June, The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop is celebrating Windness' book with a festive, pool-themed party on Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m.

In addition to a reading of the picture book, Windness will give a drawing demonstration and The Wandering Jellyfish team will host a crocodile egg hunt, costume contest, a giveaway and more.

While Swim Jim! is her first picture book, Windness has written and illustrated numerous other publications and also teaches illustration at the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design.
