Egg-cellent tradition to return to Niwot

Remember to bring your basket, because April 16, is the 41st Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Niwot High School, 8989 Niwot Road. The event is organized and sponsored by the Niwot Group at Compass (Pat Murphy, Tara Littell, Ann Mills, and Todd Goad), as a thank you letter to the community. Niwot Market and the Niwot Patriotic Cookie Moms are also sponsors of the event.

As usual, the cooks at NHS will be boiling the eggs, the Slepicka family will dye the eggs and high school student volunteers will hide them. This "hunt" will be Niwot's first egg hunt since 2019 as it was canceled two years in a row, due to the pandemic.

Before the egg hunt begins, a pancake breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., prepared by the Niwot Market and other volunteers. All proceeds will go towards the "Baby Ila Fundraiser." Ila Lambing was born last year and has been under special treatment at the Children's Hospital since Dec. 10, 2021.

For the past three and a half months, Ila has endured at least five surgeries. Her parents work at the Niwot and Loveland Post Office and are struggling with the expenses. The round trip drive to the hospital to be with Ila costs $30 a day in tolls and more for gas. The family is appreciative of all the help they can receive.

The Easter egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m, with different areas slated for each age group. Please bring your own basket. There will be hidden golden eggs and kids that find them will win a prize. Some of these prizes include kites and baseball-themed toys.

In addition, there will be a petting zoo and live children's entertainment. The petting zoo will have donkeys, little horses, goats, sheep, and chickens. Singer Eddie Spaghetti and Sami Ann Clown will be on hand to perform. .

The Niwot Group at Compass hopes to see you there and to brighten your pre-Easter morning.
