All Local, All The Time

Rock & Rails returns to Niwot for 16th year

The popular weekly concert series Rock & Rails is returning to Niwot's Whistle Stop Park for 13 shows in 2022, and organizers are gearing up for another great summer of live music and family fun on Thursday nights.

"We're looking forward to another successful season," co-manager Bruce Warren of the Niwot Cultural Arts Association said. "We're adding some new local talent for opening acts along with the return of popular favorites."

Along with Warren, Dan Hawk of Edward Jones and Vicki Maurer of Warren, Carlson & Moore, LLP, will again serve as co-managers of the event, which is co-sponsored by the Niwot Business Association, and Niwot Cultural Arts Association. As usual, admission to the concerts will be free, with guests encouraged to use their cash for donations.

The long-running series has been growing steadily over the past several years, and, in 2021, saw the biggest crowds ever. Between sponsorships and alcohol sales, the event cleared more than $40,000 last year, which was split between the two sponsors. Concert-goers were also generous, giving more than $30,000 to the tip-jars sponsored by local non-profits.

As always, organizers are looking for volunteers to staff the concerts, especially at the gate and in the beverage barn. Contact Vicki Maurer ([email protected]) for more information.

You can also get involved by purchasing a sponsorship for your business. Contact Kathy Trauner at Fly Away Home ([email protected]).

Finally, applications from non-profits serving the local community for receipt of tip jar proceeds can be made by contacting Warren at [email protected].
