All Local, All The Time

Restaurant Night at Chipotle for Mwebaza Foundation

On April 6, Niwot Elementary School and the Mwebaza Foundation are hosting a fundraiser at Chipotle on Ken Pratt Boulevard in Longmont. From 4 - 8 p.m. Swing by and grab a burrito, bowl, or tacos and Chipotle will donate 33% of its sales to Mwebaza. Make sure to tell the staff you're there to support Mwebaza Foundation and show the attached flyer.

Mwebaza Foundation is a local Niwot non-profit that connects schools in Colorado with schools in Uganda for cross-cultural exchanges and service learning opportunities. The organization has been a fixture in Niwot's community for over a decade and has provided many students both here and in Uganda the chance to broaden horizons, share perspectives, and build lasting friendships.

COVID-19 decimated many national economies, including Uganda's already fragile system. During the pandemic, many families belonging to Mwebaza's four partner schools were unable to find consistent, gainful employment and have just started returning to work. Since school in Uganda isn't free, many of these parents may not be able to send their children back to school right away.

Proceeds from this Chipotle restaurant night will go towards paying teachers' salaries at each of Mwebaza's four sister schools so that tuition can be reduced or eliminated for families in need, while the Ugandan economy recovers.
