A Colorful Halloween

A recycled crayon looks more like candy to a child at a demonstration at Inkberry Books in Niwot on Saturday. Most regular crayons are petroleum-based and don't break down well in landfills, said children's book author Pat Kittelson, who wrote "Bixley Baines and the Recycled Crayons." She led the event that featured a simple technique for recycling crayons. "Kids don't have to be Elon Musk to make a difference. There are lots of things you can do right in front of you," she said.
