All Local, All The Time

Downtown Niwot businesses line up socially distanced events for August

August has seen local Niwot businesses getting creative with their offerings.

From socially distanced movie screenings to live music to car shows, there are more than a few reasons why you might want to swing through downtown Niwot this month.

Car Show Fridays at Cottonwood Square

From 5 to 8 p.m. every Friday in August, Cottonwood Square will be hosting a socially distanced car show. People are invited to bring their hot rods, classics, sports cars, motorcycles, and even their antiques out to support local businesses.

The first two events have already seen a fine turnout with around 20 cars for the first event. The second event had everything from Niwot Market's classic red Chevy pick-up to a Ferrari and two John Deere farm tractors.

For automotive enthusiasts interested in attending or bringing their own cars out, the event will continue on August 21 and August 28 with cool rides, good food, and live entertainment in Cottonwood Square.

Save The Music Series at Niwot Tavern

If you are looking for live music, look no further than Niwot Tavern's summer "Save The Music" series. Advertised as "socially distanced live music" you can enjoy the performances while sitting outside at Cottonwood Square with some Niwot Tavern take-out.

For the remainder of August, the Niwot Tavern has lined up a host of musical talent, with live music from 5 to 7 pm most weeknights and extending to 8 p.m. on Friday night and weekend evenings. Visit http://www.niwottavern.com/events for a list of upcoming musicians.

Out & About Saturdays

Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can enjoy shopping, food, and socially distanced fun in downtown Niwot. Niwot Market will be hosting live music on their patio.

Why Not Niwot? Art Show - People's Choice Voting

Want to take part in a people's choice art show? Download and print off a passport or pick one up at Osmosis Art Gallery or other participating businesses. Then take a stroll to view each of the submitted works at the ten locations around town.

The entries, submitted by local and regional artists, aim to depict the look, feel, and essence of the Niwot community. Submit your vote now through Aug. 31 and be entered to win a print of the Grand Prize Winner.

Spaghetti Saturday at the Old Oak Coffeehouse

Aug. 22 swing by Old Oak Coffeehouse for a special rendition of Spaghetti Saturday with Old Oak's own House Blend Band performing from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Spaghetti Saturday will pick back up on Aug. 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. with spaghetti pick-up and limited dine-in seating.

Movie Night at Lefty's Pizza

Saturday evenings, give Lefty's Pizza a call at 303-652-3100 to reserve your spot for Movie Night at Lefty's Pizza.

The outdoor movie screening starts at dark. Reservations are required, and you will need to bring your own folding chair to set up in the socially distanced outdoor "movie theatre."

Lefty's is offering two dinner specials as part of the event. Prior movie showings included Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark and Back to the Future.
