Perennials taking root thanks to community volunteers

Photo by Vicky Dorvee Digging in the dirt, volunteers tucked a multitude of drought tolerant plants into the ground near the shelter at Left Hand Valley Grange Park.

More than a dozen volunteers donated their time and energy to plant hundreds of perennials and spread wheelbarrows full of mulch at Left Hand Valley Grange Park on the corner of Niwot Road and 83rd Street, Saturday, April 28.

Boulder County Parks and Open Space workers were on hand to assist and direct the community helpers. Beautiful warm weather and lightly cloudy skies provided a gorgeous day for the workers and a first-rate day for the plants to start to spread their roots.
