WINE, CHEESE AND CHOCOLATE

The Rotary Club of Niwot’s annual Wine, Cheese and Chocolate tasting will be held Friday, May 4 at the Longmont Museum, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event also features a live auction and a silent auction, with proceeds benefitting Colorado Friendship and Longmont Meals On Wheels.

HOME RUN DERBY

Niwot Youth Sports will hold their MLB Jr. Home Run Derby from 4 to 7 p.m. on May 5 at the Biff Warren Sports Complex (6750 Nimbus Road, Longmont).

The event is free, boys and girls will be split into 12U and 14U age groups with local winners going on to compete at the regional derby. Participants must have a copy of their birth certificate.

CHAPERONES NEEDED

Niwot High School is in need of chaperones for prom from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, in Broomfield. Six to 10 sponsors are needed for each shift. Email [email protected] for more information.

BEE COLONY COLLAPSE

The League of Women Voters Boulder County is sponsoring an informative session regarding what is behind bee colony collapse.

There will be three speakers including Tom Theobald of the Boulder County Beekeepers Association, followed by audience discussion.

The event is free and will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 at the East Simpson Coffee Shop, 414 E. Simpson, Lafayette.

SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS

Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. will be the annual Mother’s Day Concert benefiting the Community Infant program “Bach for Babies.” Donations of disposable diapers up to size 5 and clean, gently-used clothing up to size 2T are greatly appreciated.

And on Saturday, May 12 at 3 p.m. the Aria Singers will present Indomitable Spirit. The

event is free and open to the public, refreshments to follow the performance.

FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK

The Niwot Cultural Arts Association’s First Friday Art Walk will be held Friday, May 4, from

6 to 9 p.m. in Niwot’s business district. Patrons can view entries to the Why Not Niwot? Juried Art Show and vote for the People’s Choice Award.
