The new flooring at the Grange will be unveiled in March to enhance folks' opportunities to enjoy many forms of entertainment and education.

Niwot Historical Society’s “Now and Then” lecture

Wednesday, March 8, 7 p.m.

Laura Algar Adams, daughter of Disney legend James Algar, will display her inherited talent for telling stories during her presentation, “Growing up Disney.” Algar will narrate her father’s passage from being an animator at Disney to becoming the director of “Bambi,” “Fantasia,” and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” as well as other Disney favorites. James Algar also produced, wrote, and directed the acclaimed Disney nature series, “The True-Life Adventures,” which won eight Academy Awards.

This fun and informative lecture is free to Niwot Historical Society members or $5 for general admission.

Niwot Community Connection monthly meeting

Thursday, March 9, 10- 11:30 a.m.

This month's meeting will feature the owner of We Love Trees, Josh Morin. Morin’s presentation is titled, “The Urban Forest of Niwot, Our Community Forest and Opportunities for the Future.” Attendees will learn about Niwot’s tree canopy and how focusing on tree succession will benefit future generations. Morin will also discuss the Tree Trust and Tree Tender programs which rely on community support and volunteerism to thrive. The Niwot Community Connection offers a diverse array of activities for folks 50 and over.

Open Stage - a musical community event

Sunday, March 12, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Performer sign up begins at 1:15 p.m.

This free heartwarming, foot tapping, hum-along entertainment is certain to touch your heart and soul, all courtesy of our community’s abundant homegrown talent.

Enjoy Open Stage as an audience member or perform for the community. Everyone is welcome! Play a cover piece or an original – folk, bluegrass, rock, pop or jazz. Bring a musical instrument: a harmonica, guitar, banjo or your voice. Sound equipment, mics, and a piano are all provided.

Group dance classes

Tuesdays, March 14, 21 and 28, 5 - 7 p.m.

Teacher-choreographer Lindy Bartruff’s 2023 spring dance classes include popular Line Dance Tuesdays and small group or private classes on demand. Fun and supportive classes include ballet, jazz, tap, fitness, ballroom, salsa, swing and more for all ages and experience levels.
