Grass Fire near Tally Ho Trail in Gunbarrel

The Boulder County Communications Center received a call regarding a grass fire near Tally Ho Trail at 1:12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. This is south of the Twin Lakes neighborhood in Gunbarrel.

According to a press release, the grass fire grew to be just under 10 acres in size. Multiple homes in the surrounding area, including Carter Trail, were evacuated during door-to-door evacuations. Firefighters were able to quickly gain control of the fire, and fortunately, there was no structure loss and no injuries reported.

The origin and cause of the fire has been identified, and charges are pending against an unidentified woman who resides in the area. The investigation into the extent of the damage remains ongoing, and is currently estimated at $ 5,000 to $10,000 in value.
