Homecoming parade returns to Niwot

After a one-year hiatus, the Niwot High School Homecoming parade returns to downtown Niwot on Thursday, Sept. 12. The parade, featuring floats, marching bands and high school royalty, will begin at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Murray Street and 2nd Avenue and proceed down 2nd Avenue to Cottonwood Square. Those streets will be closed for one hour.

The Homecoming football game will be played Friday night, Sept. 13, at Everly-Montgomery Field in Longmont, but the parade is scheduled for the day before to allow the football team to participate.

NHS Student Council advisor Michelle Rickley and Student Council President Natalia Storz are heading up the arrangements for the event. The king and queen will be crowned at halftime of the football game Friday against Fort Lupton.
