Obituary, Edward “Ed” Parks Conilogue (1938-2019)

Edward “Ed” Parks Conilogue, 80, of Niwot, Colorado passed away May 29, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. A lifelong Niwot resident, Ed was born Aug. 31, 1938 to Evart “Toots” and Annadell Conilogue, he resided on the property until his death.

Ed graduated from Longmont High School in 1956, and proudly served in the United States Army and Army Reserve until 1963.

On December 9, 1962, Carol Elaine Hall and Edward were married until Carol passed in 2015. They were married for 53 years. They continued a Conilogue Family tradition of living on the families’ homestead in Niwot, raising 2 sons John and Charles. Ed and Carol were greatly known for their generosity and creating many great lifelong friendships. Love for his family and homestead was ever present in the pride he spoke of them all.

Ed worked at Rush Motors for 2.5 decades as an Alignment Tech and award winning Service Manager in Boulder before starting and operating Conilogue Automotive in Boulder from where he retired in 2001.

Ed’s passion for cars was lifelong, having owned and built many including his ‘67 Impala Convertible “Big Red”, which was his prize possession. Family and friends have many memories involving “Big Red”.

Ed was an avid sports fan. He loved baseball, football, and softball. He especially loved coaching his sons when they were young. After years of coaching, watching his sons and grandchildren play the sports they loved was his favorite pastime. Drag racing, fishing, hunting and photography were some of his many hobbies.

Surviving are his sons John Parks (Karrie) Conilogue of Niwot and Charles Edward (Tina) Conilogue of Erie. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren: Jordan, April, Marissa, Connor, and Luke; his brothers Keith and Dennis; and his sister Anna Millenile. He is preceded in death by his parents Evart “Toots” and Annadell, wife Carol, brother Raleigh and his special lifelong friends Alva Dodd, Jr and Kenny (Kathy) Winter.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Howe Mortuary in memory of Ed Conilogue. Reception immediately following funeral service at John & Karrie’s House, 7430 Niwot Rd., Niwot, Colorado.
