Courier’s Little Guy turns 21 (April 1 edition)

File Photo This sketch of the Little Guy dates back to the early days of the Courier when LG not only did the writing, photography and typesetting, he also handled distribution of the paper.

The Courier’s Little Guy (LG) , the former face and some say the brains behind the Left Hand Valley Courier, will be turning 21 on April 1. The Little Guy graced the banner of the Courier for 18 years before an early retirement.

That said, on April 1 and throughout the entire month, the Courier is encouraging readers to toast to the Little Guy as they enjoy beverages.

“I really do appreciate the cards, fan mail and flowers people have sent already,” LG said. “For future reference, don’t send a singing telegram before 8 a.m., I’m just not in the mood until I have coffee. I’ll deal with that assault charge later. For now, it’s time to celebrate.”
