All Local, All The Time

Signs, signs, everywhere are signs

Counting flood recovery and other projects, the Diagonal Highway corridor is going to be busy with construction work this spring.

In the spirit of giving drivers advance warning, the Boulder County Department of Transportation has been putting up signs informing of dates and locations of work.

The problem is, these signs and projects have been changing frequently for those who travel the area frequently.

Per the department, here are the projects drivers can count on in the coming months:

71st Street at Boulder and Lefthand creeks

This is between Highway 52 and Lookout Road. There will be a culvert replaced this summer. The county has not determined the travel impact on this project, but drivers can expect delays.

IBM Connector Multi-Use Trail

A new multi-use trail is being built between Gunbarrel and the Boulder Reservoir that will travel underneath the Diagonal Highway. Half of this project (west side) is complete along with the culverts under the Diagonal. The county will be working on the east side starting this month, and there should not be any travel impacts from this work.

North 83rd Street

There will be a replacement of the Dry Creek #2 culvert starting in July.

These projects are mostly limited to the Courier’s coverage area, but a full list of projects, road closures and other information can be found at http://www.bouldercounty.org/roads/plans.
