All Local, All The Time

Rockin' Robin's moving to Longmont

Get your retro and vintage groove on in downtown Niwot while you still can. Longtime 2nd Avenue institution Rockin’ Robin’s is moving. All the details have yet to be finalized, but Dennis Perez, who along with his wife is the co-owner of Rockin’ Robin’s, said the new location will be on Main Street in Longmont, and that the move will take place sometime in the spring.

Perez, who also owns HMK Jewelers in Cottonwood Square, purchased the business from former owner Robin Abb in December 2015. He cited a need to expand to “at least double the floor space we have currently,” as the primary impetus for the move. “We’ve really just outgrown that little spot,” said Perez.

Plans for the new location include an expanded vintage clothing line, the introduction of men’s clothing, and a move into vintage furnishings. Perez recently purchased the entire inventory of Candy’s Vintage Clothing and Costumes, formerly of 2512 N. Broadway in Boulder, which closed last year. Perez estimated that there are around 15,000 pieces in this collection, all currently sitting in storage facilities. He’s eager for the move to a larger space so he can shift that merchandise out of storage and onto the sales floor.

Overall, the move will allow the Perezes the opportunity to realize the growth of their own vision for the store. “We’re pretty excited about it,” he said.

Rockin’ Robin’s is located at 124 Second Ave in Niwot.
