Sunset Middle School holds Fall Crawl

If you’ve ever been in the hallways at Sunset Middle School, you’ve likely heard Dr. Macy telling students, “If you can, you must.” This rings true for Sunset Middle School’s Fall Crawl, an all-school walk/run being held at Sunset Middle School on Oct. 21st.

Sunset thrives on its support from its PAC, staff and parents. In the coming weeks, students will be asking the community to support them as they raise funds for numerous activities and supplies, such as transportation to field trips, classroom materials and community building incentives. All of the funds raised will go back into the school for the students – so every dollar counts.

Every student can participate in this event as they walk/run as many laps as possible within 25 minutes. The school’s goal is to raise $20,000 and community members are encouraged to support the students. Businesses are also encouraged to donate to this event, sponsored by the PAC (a non-profit organization).

PAC Vice-President Lydia Moy shared some feedback while in the planning phase of this event. When asked if the crawl could generate the same amount or higher than the $15,000 magazine fundraiser, Moy said, “Potentially yes, but it’s not always about the money, it’s the journey. The school, students, families, teachers, communities and sponsors are all able to join hands and support one another for the Fall Crawl.”

“Your generous donation will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue supporting students and enriching their educational experiences.” For those interested in making a donation, go to http://www.pacofsms.com and click on Spartan Fall Crawl. And remember,” If you can, you must!”
