All Local, All The Time

Introducing Jocelyn Rowley

The Left Hand Valley Courier is excited to introduce Jocelyn Rowley as our new sports reporter. Jocelyn replaces Thorn Compton, who left for a position as sports editor of the Rawlins Daily Times.

Jocelyn has worked in Niwot for the past four years, and currently lives in Mead with her husband, two teenage children and a neurotic golden retriever. Her son will be a junior at Mead High this upcoming school year, while her daughter will be a freshman at Niwot High.

“I love the unique character of Niwot, and its strong sense of history and community,” Rowley said. “I am very much looking forward to being a part of the Niwot High family, and I am thrilled to be working at the Courier.”

Jocelyn and her family relocated to the Longmont area from Arvada, where Jocelyn grew up. She graduated from Arvada West High School way back in the 1980s, and then attended the University of Denver, where she earned a degree in math and economics. In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys hiking, fishing, cheering for the local sports teams, and spending quality time with her family.

By joining the Courier, Jocelyn becomes the second sportswriter in her family. Her younger brother, Jeff Wilson, covers the Texas Rangers for the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
