Butler qualifies for national golf tourney

Jake Butler, an upcoming senior at Niwot High School and a three-year member of the NHS Boys Golf Team, has been busy on the junior golf circuit this summer. Butler tied for fifth place at the Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado Tournament held at Twin Peaks Golf Course June 8th.

The following week he placed third in the Boys 15-19 division at the Idaho Challenge in Nampa, ID, sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour, with identical scores of 78 on both days for a total of 156. His third-place finish also qualified him for the Tournament of Champions and the North American Junior Amateur tournaments, both to be held in Arizona in December.

Butler will play in the Sectional Qualifier in Westminster, CO for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship on June 27th. Butler was a state qualifier for the 4A State Tournament last fall for Niwot High School after placing sixth at regionals.
