Twin Peaks CA Holds First International Festival

The First Annual International Festival was an event where Twin Peaks Charter Academy celebrated the cultural differences and diversity in their school and community. The festival encouraged TPCA students to be aware of the larger world around them and to embrace the different cultures at TPCA.

The Festival was held at Twin Peaks Charter Academy on February 26, 2016, with over 550 guests in attendance. They were given the opportunity to visit fifteen different booths represented by families that attend TPCA. The countries represented were China, England, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Spain (TPCA Spanish Class), Ukraine, and Virgin Islands. Guests were able to sample a wide variety of foods, enjoy crafts and activities, and see a range of entertainment representing a number of cultures and countries.

The goals that were met through this inaugural event were to embrace different cultures, build community, and learn from family histories. Everyone had fun while interacting and getting to know one another.
