    Boulder County, Colo. - On August 29, at approximately 5:43 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person impersonating a police officer that took place near 61st Street and Andrus Road in unincorporated Boulder County. The victim reported being stopped by a male party wearing plain clothes and a Boulder County Sheriff’s Office baseball cap.     The Niwot Cougars cross country teams kicked-off their 2017 season Aug. 25 at the Vista Nation XC 2-Mile Invitational in Highlands Ranch. The small, highly competitive meet attracted many of the state’s top teams and runners, including meet host and Class 5A powerhouse Mountain Vista, as well as perennial 4A favorite Palmer Ridge.     The Niwot boys golf team was back in familiar territory last week, with two league tournaments at local venues. On Aug. 22, Cougars head coach Ed Weaver played host to a 9-team field for Northern League #4 at Longmont’s Twin Peaks Golf Course. Thanks to an unexpectedly uneven round from Niwot number-one Jack Hoover, the home team finished 50 strokes off the lead to come in fifth overall.
