    To the Editor: This is to thank the many people who came to my aid on the 4th of July. I was the guy run over by the electric shuttle vehicle just north of Niwot Market as the kids were decorating bikes and wagons before the parade. Several strong men responded immediately to lift the vehicle off me and help me out. Thanks to them. The medical crew from Mountain View Fire Rescue were on the scene right away and gave me excellent care, as well as reassuring my wife, Laura, and our family. Thanks to them.     This Independence Day I’m reflecting on our Founders’ attempts to reintroduce a radical notion. Simplified, the Founders created a grand experiment to see if ‘We the People’ could govern ourselves through representatives to make our voices heard to create laws, and thus, communities we wanted.     Niwot’s Independence Day festivities continue to draw in an increasing number of people. Dick Piland, Niwot Community Association President, estimated about 2,500 people attended the parade and events throughout the day. “It was a bit more crowded this year,” Piland said. “Every year it gets bigger and bigger.
