    The Niwot Cougar boys head golf coach Ed Weaver, is running a half marathon to raise money for the golf team.     The prestigious P.E.O. STAR Scholarship, for the 2016-2017 academic year, was presented to Kelsey Dawson, a senior at Niwot High School. Dawson was recommended for this scholarship by Chapter JD of Broomfield, Colorado. She has been accepted and will attend Colorado State University beginning this fall. The P.E.O.     Approaching the 18th hole on the final day of the State Tournament, Niwot High School’s Claire McPeak just needed to finish with a four-stroke par to finish five strokes under her first day score of 86.     The Fairview High School girls golf team took three girls to the 5A State Championship, two of whom are from Gunbarrel. Senior Maddy McCambridge and sophomore Kelsey Webster, who live in Gunbarrel, competed at state along with freshman teammate Sophie Nelsen. The two-day tournament was held at Common Ground Golf Course in Aurora, on Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24.
