  • Girls Golf: Niwot finishes ninth at state tournament

    The Niwot girls golf team capped off its memorable 2018 season with a hard-fought top-10 finish at the Class 4A Championships held May 21-22 at Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Freshman Halie Ostrom led the Cougars with a +54 for the two-round tournament, which was good for 36th place overall in the 84-player field.   • Boulder County to pilot mental health division

    Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty, Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle, and the Boulder Public Defender’s Office are leading an effort to form a Mental Health Diversion Pilot Program in Boulder County. This program would divert low-level offenders out of the jail — prior to any charges being filed — to provide them with mental health treatment.     Alzheimer’s support group An Alzheimer’s support group will meet on the first Wednesday of every month. This class is free and open to the public, no registration required. The events are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Niwot United Methodist Church, 7405 Lookout Road, Gunbarrel.
