New Teachers At Niwot High School 


Curious about some of the new teachers at NHS this year?  
Here is the “skinny” on some of the new hires.

Scott Boulbol - English 
Writing Fundamentals (1st semester) and Communication Fundamentals (2nd semester)
Scott received his BS in journalism from CU Boulder in 1987.  He also has a BA in film studies.
His professional experience includes:
* Freelance film and video production since 1987.
* Published author and freelance writer of adventure sports (running, etc.)
* Father of one daughter (3 years old)
* Ultra Marathon Runner/Tri-athlete.
He was born in New York, moved to Boulder in 1983.



Valerie Brown - Math
Valerie is married with two children. She earned her degree at UNC and is qualified to teach science and math. She will be teaching math at Niwot.  She previously worked at Gunbarrel preschool and has enjoyed volunteering in the elementary schools and middle schools.

Lori Camp - Part-time Spanish
Lori taught several years in New York State.  She has a six-year-old daughter named Briana in first grade.  She was fortunate enough to stay home with her during her infant/toddler years, but is very glad to return to teaching. She moved here in November 1998 and loves the Colorado sun!



Andrew Colella - Science
Andrew will be teaching Biology, CP Biology and Science and Careers.  He has taught for six years in the Thompson R2J School District at Thompson Valley High School (TVHS).  He was also the Varsity Soccer Coach (boys and girls) at TVHS.  He will be the girls Varsity Soccer Coach here at Niwot.


Monica Hansen - English and Forensics Coach
Monica subbed for the district last year.  She grew up and graduated in Wyoming.
She enjoys fly-fishing, art, and herb gardening.

Tom Kajiwara - Family Studies
Tom is married to his wife of 14 years, Theresa. He has two children ages five and nine.  Mr. Kajiwara taught in Cherry Creek and Northglenn.  Currently, he is teaching Consumer and Family Studies.  He is an Assistant Football Coach.  He also enjoys fly-fishing.



Jeff Levine - Math
Jeff began his professional career as a Structural Design Engineer for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation.  He resigned to travel and live in Italy.  Mr. Levine returned to teach Sciences and Mathematics. He taught English in Santiago, Chile.  He is returning to the classroom after a three-year assignment as a multicultural and holocaust educator for two museums and a Diversity Educator for International and Civil Rights Organization, the Anti-Defamation League.


Margaret (Maggie) Lynch - Special Education-students with high needs.
Margaret is very excited to be here.  She is originally from Ireland and has been in the United States for nine years. Most of that time was spent in Raleigh, N.C. She moved to Colorado last year.


Tony McFarland - Physical Education/Football and Track Coach
Tony has 24 years of teaching experience in Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado.  He has a BA in art and is an accomplished artist. He lives with his wife Karon and his five daughters in Estes Park. He is the Defensive Coordinator for the football team at Niwot.


Barbara Rilling  - Algebra I and II
Barbara has taught Math and Science for over ten years.  She has lived in Boulder County for 30 years and currently lives in Niwot with her husband, two children, cat and dog.  She is thrilled to be at NHS and hopes to meet all of you.


Terry Rosen - Business
Terry grew up in Denver and Evergreen.  He has taught various computer subjects at the college level including programming and office applications.  He has job experience in computer graphics and web design.  
He enjoys games and models and has a great deal of interest in the Spanish and Japanese Languages.


Ron Tesone - Physical Education
Ron is moving to Longmont with his wife Jennifer and son Ryan.  He has one year teaching experience and is an Assistant Football Coach.  He loves outdoor sports; specifically fly-fishing and golf.
