Word
On The Street
By Nellie Nibnose
The word for this month is
Niwot-centric. That’s how vendor Jody Evans described the open day of the
Farmer’s Market. Of course there were
many people there from Gunbarrel, Longmont and our
own lovely Vicinity.
According to Boulder Creek Events
Marketing Director Meg Denbow, there were 35 vendors
at opening day. She said she could quickly see the time where the market will
outgrow Whistle Stop Park and may have to move into the surrounding streets.
So this month, instead of putting words
in people’s mouths, here’s how some of our citizens answered the questions of
what makes the Niwot Farmers’ Market unique.

Kim Kanaday – Everything
looks great. I need to
bring more money next time.

Jane Betts – The
donations from Sturtz and Copeland
for the children’s plantings. They
donated pots, dirt and tomato plants.
|
Eva Kitlen – I like the bouncy castle. |
Cindy Silvas and Alexis and Max Eliopulos – This is what Niwot
is all about. Cookies and
ice cream stands
|
Jody Evans and son Dune – Bread and breakfast. This is great because everyone in Niwot is Niwot-centric and comes to all the events. |
Carolyn
Bradley – It’s a lot of fun to have
other things besides food. I
can bike here too.
