Continues To Boom

Commercial
growth in Gunbarrel is keeping pace with the growth along the rest of the
Front Range. The newly constructed office and high-tech buildings are projected
to fill up quickly.
Tom Hill,
of Wright-Kingdom Realtors Commercial Division said, “All of Boulder County
is doing really well. The leasing market for the smaller office spaces,
5000 square feet or less, has been better in the last few months than it
was a year ago at this time. At first, we were leasing mainly to business
people who lived in the Gunbarrel area. Now, there are regional offices
coming in. Gunbarrel is a good location. It’s centrally located,
with easy access to Boulder, Longmont, IBM and Interlochen.”
Several
of the larger buildings recently built in Gunbarrel are designed to house
high tech companies, with high floor-to-ceiling clearance and garage door
style access on the backside of the building for shipping and receiving.
These are research and development facilities geared toward software development.
The economic
forecast for the state predicts that growth will continue in 2001, but
at a slower rate. According to the University of Colorado Business
Research Division, Boulder County may not feel the full effects of the
national slowdown in the economy and that growth will continue to expand
into the first part of 2001.
