A stop at the small wood stand on the corner of 75th and Valmont Road during the summer months is a fruitful venture. Munson Farms Produce Stand offers farm-grown vegetables and fruit through the summer months and pumpkins into the fall. Owner Marcy Munson explains that the farm’s stand is stocked with fruits and vegetables grown on the 140 acres owned by the Munsons since 1979. Right now, they have sweet corn, beans, cucumbers, Japanese eggplant, beans and many varieties of squash. They carry greenhouse tomatoes, but Munson promises that their field grown tomatoes will be available soon. Colorado grown peaches from Palisades can be purchased at the stand and onions and garlic from other area farms. Buyers can walk into the field and cut their own bouquet of garden fresh flowers and “soon we’ll have our wonderful melons,” says Munson. The Munson’s stand is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The stand will offer a pick-your-own-pumpkin patch in the fall and will remain open until October 31.
