By Mary Wolbach Lopert After two years of planning, Gunbarrel Estates has new flagstone street signs. Planned by the Gunbarrel Estates Home Owners Association, the flagstone was purchased at Phillips Stone in Lyons and the engraving was done by Longmont Memorial.
According to Therese Glowacki, the whole project was a community effort. “We really couldn’t have done this without the efforts of Bill Thurmes, Jim Butler, Helena LaValle, Joe Markham and Jeff Liedtke. We would also like to acknowledge the Gruszynski, Tewahade, Katzen households and the Niwot United Methodist Church for allowing us to put the flagstone on their land.” Photo by Mary Wolbach Lopert Saturday, July 8 saw Gunbarrel Estates residents (l to r) Jason Bartley, Bill Thurmes, Ed White, Therese Glowacki, Joe Markham and Matthew Markham working in 95 degree heat to install new signs on 71st Street. |
