Dawson School's athletics program was recognized this month as one of the top in the state, across all sports and all divisions, the school recently announced. Mile High Sports magazine's annual prep sports report ranked Dawson Athletics #12 out of over 350 programs statewide. The ranking recognizes the breadth and success of Dawson athletics, as it looks across sports at state championship-level qualifying and appearances by both teams and individual athletes. In addition, Dawson was named #2 statewide in the 2A division, and #6 of the state's top 10 private schools. Athletic Director Mike Jacobsma congratulated "the committed students, excellent coaches, and supportive teachers, families, and fans. We couldn't achieve this without everyone involved!" Among Dawson's recent sports’ successes have been the 2018 girls soccer state championship, 2016 baseball state championship, boys lacrosse state runner-up the last three years, individual/pair state championship tennis achievements, as well as the full boys and girls teams qualifying for state.
